Resilience is a relatively new field of study in science, social science, and psychology but is emerging as rapidly as the concept of sustainability a few decades ago. This makes it particularly fertile ground for original thinking and research. Rather than simply make a long list of written resources, we’ll conduct exploratory conversations with key researchers in all these fields and bring them to you as audio podcasts on our site with additional media (text, photos, video clips, and other audio) supplied by the guest. This research will be focused on the following categories:

Social science:  social capital, livable cities, building resilience into physical and social infrastructure in response to natural and humanly induced disasters

Psychology:  positive psychology, learned optimism, cognitive reappraisal

Science:  evolutionary systems in nature, neuroscience and human brain chemistry
